This day marks the beginning of the 40-day penitential Lenten season. Ash Wednesday serves as a reminder of our mortality and the importance of reconciling with God.

In accordance with this, a Holy Mass was held this morning, February 2, 2023, at the San Diego Pro-Cathedral. The eucharistic celebration was presided by Rev Fr Carl Anthony Quinto.

For those who were not able to attend the mass earlier, the lay ministers, or “tatays,” will go to different BEC areas of the parish for the imposition of ashes. There will also be a holy mass and imposition of ashes later this afternoon at 5 p.m.
